ABOUT ME !

Hi everyone! My name is Tian Le and I am 23 this year. I used to study in Infocomm and Security at Nanyang Polytechnic and I currently major in computer science (Cyber Security) at UOW. I took an interest in this degree as I had a background on IT in my poly days and I was pretty fascinated by how much we can learn about the depth of technology therefore I decided to take on this challenge!

My passion will be playing soccer and bowling! Soccer is a sport that I had been playing since primary school and representing for my school team on the field was definitely a fun and thrilling experience for me. I definitely miss the competitiveness as a team during matches when we played as a team in primary/secondary school. I am always glad that nowadays I still hang out with my teammates and play Sunday soccer friendly every week and because of that our relationships have gotten closer than before! I would say that I am glad to have taken soccer when I first entered the school as It’s a significant feature of my life that brought me unforgettable experiences and precious connections that will be there for a lifetime.

Another one would be bowling that I started years back with a group of my friends before we went in National Service, I still remembered that we would always meet in early in the morning to go Bukit Batok csc to bowl as the prices were cheaper than other places. Fast forward to after NS, which we stopped for a good 2 years we picked the sport back up and decided to take a challenge and joined the league in one of the bowling centers. Even though, our placing is not the best but I still feel that it is definitely a fruitful and enjoyable experience as we get to learn along the way and succeed together as a team. I am hoping that the next season we play in will be more rewarding and achieving for us.

Also, in my downtime, I also enjoyed binge-watching my favorite Netflix shows, spending hours and hours trying to finish up the show as the plot of most of the shows is truly intriguing which makes me want to know what will happen next.

I appreciate your time reading my introduction and I am excited to get to know each and everyone of you!

Hi Tianle, good to see you. I like the way you use different methods to showcase each point. You have also brought the point across clearly. I agree with all of your points made in this post. The fact that Robert remains confrontational and combative throughout the whole engagement does show that he uses a distributive bargaining approach and is competitive in causing a poor working and negotiating environment to work with. Anyway, I wish you all the best.

Hi Tianle, just stumbled upon your post and I find the way you analyse the case study to be very intriguing. The way you brought out the different point to match Robert’s way of communication is very detailed. Robert assertiveness during the whole discussion shows that he does uses a distributive bargaining approach which causes poor working environment. Robert’s assertiveness might hurt him in the long run as it could not only cut short his relationship with colleague in the company as well as any career opportunities that could be presented soon. All in all, enjoyed reading your blogpost, hope to see your next update soon.

Hi Tianle, I feel your blog post is very interesting and informative! I agree with you that Robert is employing a distributive bargaining strategy. He is trying to push his interests without trying to consider Kay’s solutions and opinions. I also agree with you on the lack of empathy and listening skills on Robert’s part. He is too fixated on his interest and ego to even consider Kay’s proposals. However, I also feel that their company also lacks empathy by not considering and acknowledging the contributions of Robert and his team enough to give them a wage increase. Thus it is understandable if he feels that they are underappreciated. Anyways, thank you for your informative blog post. See you around!
